Here at Serco we're experts in designing, implementing, and managing waste and recycling services, and right now we're recruiting for a Compliance Co-Ordinator for our Sandwell contract. Working with the council since 2019, we provide a complete waste and recycling service, striving to minimise waste and maximise participation in recycling.

About you

First and foremost, you'll need to be an experienced Compliance Coordinator with the following abilities:

  • Demonstrable knowledge of health & safety, environmental and other legal obligations to ensure compliance.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to apply an analytical and logical approach to tasks to assist in pre-planning.
  • Highly organised with excellent communication skills.
  • Used to working within an 'active compliance' role, with significant workforce interaction.
  • Experience of deputising for Supervisors within a blue collar environment.
  • Experience of supporting projects and/or continuous improvement.


This is a varied and vital role which would suit an experienced Compliance Coordinator from a blue collar environment. You should have exceptional attention to detail and able to prioritise tasks appropriately. Having strong knowledge around environmental/green compliance, as well as transport fleet compliance is essential, as is the experience of supervising staff during absences and when working on projects. You should be proactive and maintain up to date records and reports, whilst keeping colleagues up to date with any changes or issues.
