Babcock Naval Nuclear - Submarine Support Engineering (SSE) focuses on collaborative work externally with the Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) in delivery of the submarine support programme and internally with our submarine delivery Teams to ensure available and capable platforms for the Royal Navy.

Within that structure, Maritime Mission Systems (MMS) delivers direct contracts of support with MoD Major Systems Equipment and Approving Authorities within the SDA for submarine Combat and Strategic Weapons Systems, as well as elements of pan-business activity across other areas of Babcock.

Main Purpose of Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced engineer, to support Babcock's contribution to the Submarine Strategic Weapon Enterprise (SWE). Key elements of the post are:

• To represent Babcock's SWS / SWSS engineering capability within the SWE.
• To maintain a unified and coherent approach to SWS / SWSS engineering support across Babcock business units.
• To work effectively with other UK Strategic Weapon system industry partners within the SWE.
• To act as a Babcock subject matter expert for SWS / SWSS, providing advice and facilitating information exchanges as required to support business outputs.

What do I need to do the role?
You'll need experience of supporting and developing SWS / SWSS engineering programmes of work, policies, procedures, technologies, equipment and operations.

Would also like you to hold experience in the following:
• Desirable: Recent experience of working with MoD authorities.
• Qualifications Educated to Foundation Degree / BTEC (HNC / HND) level in Electronic / Mechanical Engineering discipline. Membership or applying for membership of a profession engineering body (IET, IMechE).
