Senior Engineer – Configuration Management

Would you like to play a key role in being responsible for all configuration management processes across our engineering team? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Engineer at our site in Glascoed, Radway Green or Washington. (Flexible working options will also be considered for this role).

As a Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the Engineering Function fulfils its Configuration Management (CM) contractual obligations and responsibilities by owning and authoring a comprehensive and workable CM process, monitoring adherence and validating through checks and audits. Provide the business with guidance and advice on best practice for the maintenance of product build standards and technical data.

This role will be responsible for implementing and rolling out an enterprise wide Configuration Management technical solution. You will also be able to lead a small team supporting with development and progression opportunities.

 

Your main responsibilities as Senior Engineer – Configuration Management will involve: 

Responsibility and accountability for Configuration Management (CM) that spans the whole product lifecycle and references industry best practice.

Responsibility for implementation, rollout, support and governance of Configuration Management technical solution (Teamcenter); defining operating processes and procedures.

Conducting CM Reviews to include, but not limited to, requirements, Configuration Change Management (CCM) process adherence.

Continuous Improvement activities to existing CM processes and toolset.

Production & delivery of CM training and training material.

Working closely with the Principal Engineer Governance and Assurance (G&A) to ensure all aspects of CM are considered in the G&A program.

Establish and communicate the goals and objectives of Configuration Management.

People management of the CM Team.

Lead & support the training & personal development of each member of the CM Team.

 

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

HNC/HND or equivalent in relevant discipline (engineering) or relevant experience

Fully conversant with a PLM (Project Lifecycle Management) Software

Proven experience in an engineering role

Project Lifecycle Management Experience

Proven experience leading teams, managing individuals and managing targets and deadlines.

 

Desirable:

Fully conversant with Team Center PLM Software

Proven experience in the implementation and roll out of an Enterprise-wide Configuration Management solution (ideally Team Centre 11)

Be fully conversant in SAP ERP System

Team Management experience

 

What we're looking for in you:

You will have the ability to work to tight deadlines and be an excellent problem solver and decision maker. You will also have the ability to work independently but also have the ability to lead a small team and interact with the larger engineering team as required. You will also have excellent communication skills to work with stakeholders of all levels as this will be key when rolling out new configuration management software. Being able to prioritise your own workload and the teams will also play a pivotal role in this position.

 

Location: Glascoed, Radway Green or Washington (Flexible working options will also be consider for this role).
