Sitec a Belcan Company are seeking a Production Support Translation Engineer

This is a contract role with an initial term estimated at 6 months but is likely to be extended. Some presence will be required on-site at Stevenage up to 3 days and working remotely for the rest of the week. Parking is provided within 15 minutes' walk from the site.

Job Summary

To support the manufacturing engineering department by translating SOPs (shop order packs) from French to English.

Using high tech production experience to gain a good understanding of the mechanical production operation in order to differentiate between documents that can be translated directly and those that need interpretation to fit local processes or limitations.

To liaise with managers and process owners on the above.

Job Profile

General Responsibilities -

To collate, translate, gain approval for and distribute production documents from the original French into English.

Liaison with relevant team members to ensure the translated documents fit local needs, processes and legislation.

Answer questions from the shop floor on translated documents.

Skills/Experience Required -

Essential -

Fluency in French and English including a high tech production vocabulary.Understanding of build documentation to ensure clear instructions are given to shop floor operators. Lean manufacturing techniques including 5S, root cause analysis and continuous improvement.Procedures and process control.

Desirable -

Strong experience in a similar role.

A good understanding of space/aerospace manufacturing and build philosophies

Clean room experience

Knowledge of Health and Safety principles and their application to the specific environment

Use of 3DExperience (or other Dassault systems) - SAP - Excel - Windchill

Education & Training

Desirable -

HNC level in a Manufacturing discipline. A lesser qualification is acceptable if a high level of similar industry experience can be demonstrated.

Some Occasional travel to other UK or European sites will be required

Candidates should have a background that will allow UK Security Clearance to be obtained.
