Role Summary

We have an exciting Operational Buyer role to work at our state of the art facility in Coventry.

In this role you will effectively manage procurement activities and cross-functional relationships with assigned suppliers ensuring appropriate Meggitt purchasing policies and procedures are applied at all times. You will be actively involved in dealing with multiple external & internal stakeholders & be able to prioritise your work.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with designated suppliers of goods and services to ensure quality, cost, delivery and responsiveness targets are being achieved
  • Conduct requests for quotation, evaluation, negotiations, and sourcing activities
  • Drive annual cost down and minimize supplier cost increases
  • Accountable for commodity Purchase Cost Variance (PCV) performance
  • Raise orders and/or other demand signals accurately and on time to ensure all goods and services are supplied in accordance with customer and company requirements
  • Ensure compliance with government laws and regulations and company policies and processes
  • Manage system and supply chain performance parameters such as supplier contact information, lead times, minimum order quantities, delivery frequency and schedules
  • Review performance data related to purchasing effectiveness and efficiency
  • Liaise with external customers as required taking appropriate actions as directed


Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Ideally degree educated or possess relevant indsustry experience
  • Experienced in acquiring materials necessary for manufacturing and the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to write specifications, prepare bid documents, handle bidding process and analyze all bid results
  • Solves complex problems and exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to drive tasks to completion
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
