Here at Serco we have an exciting opportunity for a Bicycle Mechanic to join our fun and vibrant Edinburgh Cycle Hire team. The bikes are available 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, 365 days year, so you'll play a vital role in ensuring that customers have ongoing access to this growing and popular service.

You will work in the workshop carrying out repairs, services, quality control and any other bicycle related tasks. You will also be responsible for ensuring the correct volume of both pedal bikes and -e-bikes are available for hire in Edinburgh and that they are safe to use.

For our Mechanics, tinkering on their bike is no longer just a hobby. We want hands-on, technically minded individuals who understand the importance of taking care of our customer's pride and joy. Be it a road bike, kid's bike or top of the range mountain bike. You will be helping keep our customer's wheels turning.

In this role you'll work Monday to Friday between 8am to 4pm with overtime opportunities also available.

About You

In order to be considered for this position, it is desirable that any candidates hold a Cytech qualification (or equivalent), have a keen interest in bicycles and have a background in mechanical maintenance, as well as being enthusiastic and dedicated with good customer service skills.

You will also be trustworthy, reliable and flexible, have good problem resolution skills, be numerate and literate and have experience of working with IT software including Microsoft office and using mapping technology.
