DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Your daily role responsibilities with our company will be as follows:

  • Conduct horizon scanning and strategic analysis on warfare development relevant documents issued by ACT and other relevant NATO entities
  • Conduct in-depth analysis for comprehensive and long-term strategy development involving NATO military strategy, potential adversaries' strategies/approaches, and trends in warfighting
  • Contribute to high-level written products for presentation and consideration by the NATO Military Committee and North Atlantic Council
  • Collaborate with representatives of Allied governments, staff officials of NATO entities and private industry on substantive activities
  • Prepare comprehensive briefings, speeches, testimony to be given by SACT, DSACT, COS, and DCOSs as appropriate
  • Identify issues that affect HQ SACT and other NATO entities programs, activities, and relationships
  • Draft materials in support of conferences, speaking engagements, and workshops on warfare development in NATO
  • Facilitate information sharing across multiple networks and among key internal and external stakeholders, particularly with NATO Headquarters
  • Submit periodic reports and act under the direction of the Contractor's Officer Technical Representative (COTR)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

If you have passion for the work described above, here are the basic qualifications we are looking for:

  • PhD or Master's Degree in strategic studies, war studies, international relations or a related field and relevant political or strategic experience
  • Experience of writing high-level policy and/or strategic products 
  • Experience working within an international political and/or military environment
  • Familiarity with relevant NATO policy and strategies in warfare development 
  • Experience working within NATO Command or Force Structures 
  • Proven track record of academic research and publications 
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
  • Possess good briefing skills and demonstrate a 'can-do attitude'
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment providing fit for purpose, quick analysis as directed by WDF CT
  • NATO/National Secret Clearance
  • Right to live and work in duty location unencumbered

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience of working in either department/ministry of defence strategy development 
  • Knowledge of NWCC and NATO Defence Planning Process (NDPP)
  • Knowledge of Emerging and Disruptive Technologies (EDT)
