Security Cleared Application Support Engineer (Java, API, Microservices, RDBMS, CI/CD) is urgently required by our Global IT Services Company for an initial 6 months rolling contract, to be based in Bracknell, Berkshire. Must be able to work from Bracknell 5 days a week, with no remote working. Must be able to work on call 24/7/365 rotation, as part of an out of hours team.

Responsibilities & Skills:

  • Application support experience for Java based web applications and apis/microservices with RDBMS backends.
  • Experience of supporting applications that have been delivered using CI/CD and customising CI/CD pipelines to deliver enhancements and CSI
  • Experience of developing code to enhance applications and fix bugs
  • Experience of supporting applications that run on containerised platforms (build, deployment, configuration, orchestration, operation)
  • Experience of identifying and delivering service improvements to deliver TOIL reduction and shift left, with as many of the following skills as possible: Applications Support - Java, Spring, SpringBoot/Tomcat, Javascript, NodeJS or ReactJS, HTML/CSS, CI/CD - Jenkins (inc groovy) & Terraform, Platform & Cloud - Docker/Kubernetes/Helm, AWS , Database - postgres, Applications - Swagger, Groovy/Grails.
  • Experience of supporting applications monitored using Dynatrace (or similar), ELK (or similar), Prometheus/grafana/python, CI/CD - Nexus, Artefactory, Platform & Cloud - Rancher, KOPS, NGINX
  • Ability to work on call 24/7/365 rotation, as part of an out of hours team.
