SC Cleared HR Manager (inside IR35)

Contract Term: 3 month (potential extension)

Contracting Authority: MOD

Location: Taunton

As a HR Manager, your main responsibilities would be: 

  • Leading and directing the Human Resource team to deliver a comprehensive service to the organisation.
  • Taking overall responsibility for recruitment activity and campaigns;
  • Collaborating with the business to fully understand its needs and objectives for both the current and future business challenges
  • Measuring employee satisfaction and identify areas that require improvement;
  • Maintaining the succession plan and talent pipeline; coaching managers on performance management issues and ensuring delivery of training requirements.
  • Implementing new HR policies, procedures and processes; managing HR budgets and driving employee engagement

You’ll have relevant experience in:

  • Experience of leadership in a HR team, with experience of leading on HR strategy or previous experience as a HR Business Partner
  • Understanding of change management, whole systems thinking and organisational developments concepts
  • Experience of delivering a quality service to a broad range of customers
  • Conversant with the wider diversity and inclusion agendas and experience of helping build towards a more diverse workforce.
  • Successful experience in a range of HR disciplines and people issues such as pay, workforce planning and resourcing, Employee Relations, HR/OD policies and strategies;
  • Evidence of leading & managing teams to deliver a customer focused service or evidence of leading people through change.
  • Strong business acumen with an understanding of the key financial drivers related to growth and cost management goals of an organisation.
  • HR Systems experience in terms of selection and upgrades
  • MCIPD or the equivalent e.g. significant HR management experience (would normally have 10 years+ experience). 

You will also have these Qualifications/Skills:

  • HR experience in the civil service
  • Consultative and unionised HR experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR legislation and best practice
  • Experience of representing their organisation at Tribunals
  • MCIPD qualified
