Job Purpose

To deliver internal communications for the Hinkley Point C project, following a strategy across a range of channels, ensuring effective links and alignment across the project, EDF Energy, EDF Group and suppliers. This is a critical role that inspires, informs, engages, and enthuses all those working on the project so that they work as one team, with shared values and goals, so that the project is completed safely, on time and budget and with high quality.

 

The role holder will be part of a small internal communications team delivering a wide range of activities – and part of a wider HPC communications team. This person must be able to work flexibly, meeting changing demands as required. The role holder interacts daily with management and is able to act independently and use initiative whilst building relationships across a complex business with multiple stakeholders.

 

Principal Accountabilities

    Project Manager for end-to-end HPC Excellence Awards programme and event. Working closely with organising committee and supplier to deliver an industry leading prestigious annual event for the construction project. Lead on engagement including the annual MyEDF Survey. Coordination, project management and detailed analysis required leading to presentation to the Executive team. Designs, implements, populates, and maintains the mix of employee feedback and two-way communication channels that enable the achievement of the overall communications strategy. Acts as an advisor, staying abreast of what’s happening to identify and put in place the appropriate communication strategies and plans that enable the successful embedding and communication of change. Develops and implements the communications strategy and plans for key change projects and other business initiatives, ensuring that changes are communicated effectively to colleagues and to maintain employee confidence in business and decisions. Accountable for the preparation and sign off verbal, written and digital communications that inform, enthuse, engage, and align those that work on the project with the vision and changes. Represents their function/Business Unit at internal and external forums, to ensure alignment between NNB strategy and plans with internal and external Communications strategies and plans. Develops evaluation and measurement and employee feedback loops to ensure communication activities are effective and improve business performance and organisational culture change. Procures, manages commercial relationships with outsourced supplier and contractors to ensure services meet standards. Makes recommendations to change or amend portfolio of outsourced providers to optimise standards of service.
 

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

    Able to understand and segment different stakeholders and audience and match to appropriate channels of communication Able to draft content, strategy and messaging that aligns with the bigger picture communications strategy Ability to interact and coach stakeholders at all levels from NNB Exec through to peers and front-line staff. Able to influence and obtain buy-in to communication plan proposals that meet business objectives and ensure effective communications to staff. Demonstrates a good understanding of the how the organisation works and able to establish appropriate routes to sign off where this is undefined. Able to respond to quickly changing circumstances and high levels of demand, providing timely, high quality communications support as needed.
