Hybrid-IT Technical Architect
Client: EU Institution
Location: Fully Remote, occasional meetings in Strasbourg & Brussels post-COVID
Start: Early September
Duration: 6 Months

*Must hold EU Nationality due to the nature of the client*
*Must hold EU or NATO Secret clearance due to the nature of the client*

Requirements:
* Technical Architect experienced in Presales & Delivery
* European citizenship
* EU or NATO Secret Clearance is mandatory
* Languages : English, French is an asset

Job Description:
* The architect will be responsible for all infrastructure related work packages. Including evolutions, adaptions, installations and long term vision on the existing infrastructure but also as a long term vision.
* This architect has to lead and consult the partner and the customer from the early bit phase (PFA : proposal for adaptation) till the implementation and all in between.
* For the above the architect needs to assure that the proposals can be implemented. Detailed high level design up till very detailed low level designs need to be crafted and put in place. (From port level till OS level and all in between).
* The architect must assure a smooth transition between proposal and real implementation for which he needs to provide all the offers, plans and designs.

Job Responsibilities:
* Work closely with pre-sales to draft the BOMS, drives and manage the discussions with the customer if necessary
* Make sure the proposed infrastructure is installable in the current infrastructure. Assuring that physical implementation is possible but also ports are available, FW levels are correct, space is available in racks, network is able to cope with the solution etc etc…
* Draft different documents in the different phases of the offer and implementation. Going from high level design over san design, network designs up until the detail of ports and space in the racks.
* Be the point of contact for the implementation of the above design for HW and SW engineers and consultants
* Keep documentation up to date (rack layout, blades configs, visio's, installed firmware in devices…)
* Assist the partner in technical discussions with the customer.
* Work closely with the partner, pre-sales, sales and project teams.
* Keep detailed track of current configurations and know how to use it to design and extend the requested evolutions.
* Acts as quality manager during the project implementation
* Understand projects dependencies, from a technical standpoint, and ensure they are well documented and communicated to the customer/partner.
* Identify technical risks and document them

Education and Experience:
* Preferable a university degree in IT management or already detailed experience in the scope of infrastructure.
* Knowledge of subsystems like HP-UX, Networking, Red Hat,VMware, etc
* Knowledge of Microsoft documentation tools like Word, Visio, etc
* ITIL knowledge
* Installation and configuration knowledge of the following systems :
* - Blade servers
* - San switches
* - Network devices
* - P9500
* - Synergy
* - Storeonce
* - Storeeasy
* - 3par
* - BL and DL series of servers.
