DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Your daily role responsibilities with our company will be as follows:

  • Maintains the Microsoft SQLserver database infrastructure of the operational environment to ensure that the production environment is available;
  • Monitor performance of the different database components;
  • Assists with and implements assigned project work packages related to the database infrastructure;
  • Defines, implement and monitor backups of the different database systems;
  • Maintains the software baseline and performs the necessary upgrades;
  • Creates and maintains the relevant documentation of the different systems; 
  • Analyses and resolves assigned level 1 and level 2 incident and problem tickets;
  • Advices to the head, database support on related databases issues;
  • Maintains the inventory of the deployed components in the database field; 
  • Stays abreast of the database technology currently in place and evolution of the database technology

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • At least 8 years recent experience with database administration in Microsoft SQL Server in a large scale ICT service-oriented environment;
  • Good knowledge of Windows server technology and Active Directory;
  • Strong problem solving and analytical capabilities to analyze database related problems and ability to think beyond the database space;
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. SQL, PowerShell, Perl, Linux shell);
  • A good awareness of access security and knowledge on security policies implementation;
  • Very good general knowledge of IT hardware and software in general;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; 
  • ITIL v3 foundation certificate;
  • NATO or National Secret security clearance (mandatory)
  • Ability to live and work in duty location unencumbered
