The day job
To own and deliver to the Support Office, ensuring that they conform to customer and Sopra Steria time, cost, quality and revenue specifications and escalate any major issues to Sopra Steria management
Key responsibilities:
- Establish and manage PMOs of various sizes.
- Undertake assignment and / or line management of PMO team members.
- Good communication skills at all levels of management.
- Participate in sales campaigns to demonstrate support office capability to clients.
- Define the detailed scope and deliverables for the support office with both internal and external clients.
- Understand business requirements as they relate to relevant sectors, customers and key service offerings.
- Establish support office budgets and gain acceptance for cost and where appropriate revenue and margin targets and manage assigned resources to these parameters.
- Produce accurate forecasts of future support office performance and report on variance against forecast.
- Deliver support office services in accordance with agreed scope, acceptance criteria, time, financial and quality measures, ensuring all deliverables are in line with contractual arrangements set up with external clients.
- Assemble and update project and service plans, escalating deviations to published plans.
- Assemble and update key documentation e.g. Management Handbook, Quality Plans, Tailoring Matrix, Service Definition Document, Project Definition Document
- Provide outline project approaches and plans, background information and basic analyses of risk and return to assist the Sales, Bid and Delivery teams in developing commercially and contractually viable proposals and assist them in meeting their aims of securing business and meeting customer needs.
- Compile project/service/ risk and issue registers and ensure robust management and mitigation of risk levels.
- Assist in the management of risks, issues and change, raising awareness of risks to ensure cost-effective and prompt resolution of issues.
- Where appropriate, manage or assist in coordinating an extended project team to review and approve work packages and drive delivery.
- Compile delivery governance reports and project or programme reporting.
- Ensures that delivery methods and tools are used in a manner consistent with the project environment.
- Provide management services to support project/service delivery. This may include, but is not limited to: compilation of budget and forecast figures; capability planning; milestone/delivery planning.
- Administer, support and ensure quality standards are maintained within the project for all stakeholders.
- Provider support activities including, but not limited to:
- Meeting coordination and organisation, including scheduling, minute taking and action tracking.
- Coordination of site visits (Client and Internal) and associated risk assessments.
- Identification of, and adherence to, Client processes where applicable.
- Ensure effective client engagement and stakeholder management for project/service delivery.
- Complete assignment reviews at agreed periods or points in the project life cycle.
- Promote Sopra Steria services in client situations and develop relationships that are transferrable into sales opportunities.
- Supports the formal closure of projects and the completion of project and lessons learned reviews in order to ensure that lessons learned are captured and passed to the relevant forum for action and enhance own and teams development, skills enhancement and overall contribution.
Required skills
You need to have:
- Recent and relevant experience of project/portfolio management with a track record of delivering to required standards
- Demonstrated team leadership capability
- Required: SC Clearance
It would be great if you had:
- IT services background
- Relevant sector experience
- P3O Practitioner, or AIPMO, or House of PMO
- SAFE, Execview, ProjectView and iQ
