Cloud Architect (Senior Consultant)

Pareto People are working on this role on behalf of a leading, dynamic and fast-growing consultancy client in the UK. We are looking to hire a Cloud Architect (Senior Consultant). The role will perform remotely.

Role Summary

The successful candidate will work with a range of disciplines across our digital technology and project management specialisms, to provide cloud solutions that meet the needs of our clients. The role will be customer facing and provide specialist knowledge of cloud architecture to develop appropriate cloud infrastructure solutions from design and development through to application migration and maintenance.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop cloud solutions for our clients, within budget and on time
• Design, implement and manage cloud infrastructure
• Manage stakeholders from wide backgrounds 
• Write and review in-depth technical documents

Requirements

• Industry related qualification or relevant experience in designing public cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
• Experience of public and private cloud solutions at an enterprise level
• Experience with a range of cloud programming and management tools
• Knowledge of cloud platform services (SaaS/IaaS/PaaS)
• Demonstrable knowledge of a breadth of application architectures and how different cloud infrastructures support them
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience of describing a technical subject to a non-technical audience
• Must have or be eligible for and willing to undergo UK Government security vetting (SC). Please check that you are eligible before applying (this does not require UK citizenship)
• Willingness to travel to client sites

Desirable 

• Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment
• Experience working in the Ministry of Defence, Nuclear or the Public Sector
• Cloud Architecture qualifications (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP or others)
• Experience of programming and scripting languages
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code
• Exposure to Continuous Build / Integration
• Exposure to Containerisation technologies
