The Information Compliance and Records Management Unit sits within the Information Management Branch.
The unit has responsibility for meeting the Chief Constable's obligations under the GDPR and Data Protection and Freedom of Information Acts and for advising upon and delivering Records Management policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the Information Management requirements of the Authorised Professional Practice (APP).
To perform this role, applicants need an awareness of GDPR and the Data Protection and Freedom of Information Acts, a basic awareness of Information Security and the basic principles of records management.
You will have experience in the use of computer systems, standard software packages and the use of spreadsheets and databases.
The successful candidate will be required to.
- process applications for information under GDPR and the Data Protection Act and for Insurance Requests, made under the ABI Memorandum of Understanding, including, the provision of advice to enquirers, logging of requests and liaison with colleagues in other areas of the force to gather the information requested
- publish FOI information on the intranet/internet/publication scheme as required
- provide postal, filing, ordering, and other administration duties
With customer service skills you will have the ability to work on a number of tasks simultaneously and manage a broad and divergent workload as well as having the ability to assimilate and analyse information quickly.
