Job Description Summary As a member of an established team you will be responsible maintaining new or existing Test Equipment software solutions for our Aviation Power and Control product programmes. You will demonstrate independence and sound technical judgment, identify and breakdown complex problems and formulate solutions. You will be supervised by senior subject specialists and trained to operate within a well-defined software lifecycle. During development there will be working/integration with the Test System hardware. Full training will be given but basic knowledge of electronics, as well as high level object oriented languages, is essential.

Job Description Essential Responsibilities
  • Develop Test Equipment Software to defined standards complying with all regulatory and safety requirements 
  • Help architect new test equipment software solutions and incorporate new requirements into existing solutions 
  • Responsible for the full software life cycle - from initial requirements through to formal software release and support  
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews 
  • Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments 
  • Participate on teams assigned to address organisational initiatives and engineering issues 
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned project and/or tasks inline with engineering policies and procedures

Qualifications / Requirements
  • Significant code development experience in a Object Oriented language
  • Basic electronics knowledge 
  • Must be willing to learn new programming languages, including National Instruments CVI   
  • Debugging/fault finding  
  • Some Hardware / Software integration experience (either professionally or home projects)
  • Excellent communication skills to team, peers and all levels of management

Desired Characteristics
  • Experience of using National Instruments Test Stand and/or CVI for software development 
  • Agile Software Development - e.g. Sprint planning, Scrum, Retrospective etc.
  • C++ Experience
