Job Description Summary An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Engineer to join the UK safety team, helping bring to market our next generation of industry leading Avionics, and Power Distribution System products.  In this role, you will work collaboratively with the wider engineering teams, across a range of projects, by performing system safety assessments to ensure that our products meet the required levels of safety throughout their lifecycle.

Job Description Roles and Responsibilities
  • Authoring Safety program plans
  • Capturing, understanding and documenting the customer's Safety requirements
  • Contributing to the integration of Safety considerations into system architectures in co-operation with other engineering functions
  • Performing Safety Analysis for Civil and/or Military aircraft systems, such as hazard assessment, Fault Tree Analysis, and common mode analysis
  • Documenting the outcome of analyses in Safety Assessment reports
  • Performing safety related reviews of project Documentation
  • Supporting the Safety Product Management Team (SPMT), as needed, to develop an understanding of how in-service safety concerns are raised and resolved

Required Qualifications
  • An accredited degree in Engineering, or equivalent level of knowledge and experience

Desired Characteristics
  • Understanding of the systems design lifecycle within aerospace or a similar embedded systems development environment
  • An analytic, collaborative approach to problem solving
  • Positive attitude and ability to contribute to a team environment
  • Good problem solving and solution building skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Desirable Characteristics
  • Understanding of how the safety assessment process integrates with the systems engineering approach
  • Understanding of SAE ARP4754A, ARP4761 or similar rigorous development Standard
  • Knowledge of Safety analysis tools, such as FaultTree+ or RELEX
  • Knowledge of Reliability, Maintainability, and Testability engineering
