About the role
Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit an experienced General Manager (Warehousing & Distribution) to join our team at HMNB Clyde. The main purpose of your role is the management of the strategic direction and profitable service delivery of fast paced Warehousing & Distribution Services with a contract value around £10M.

You will be responsible for a team of 54 staff with 5 direct reports.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the Warehousing and Distribution to achieve service excellence ensuring KPI's are achieved to deliver a profitable business and protect business reputation
  • Development and implement growth/efficiency strategies and plans to maximise business efficiency/profit
  • Management of a service data environment supporting effective management and reporting platform
  • Stakeholder relationship management to deliver excellence in service and enhance business reputation
  • Analysis of data and production of contracted customer reports as well as data supporting wider service delivery performance
  • Development of Service Receiver relationships to ensure effective working arrangements and performance criteria met
  • Management of Profit & Loss account
  • Business management to ensure Legislative, commercial and safety compliance

What do I need to do the role?

We are looking for someone who has operated at a Senior Management level with extensive experience within a Warehousing and Distribution Environment. Experience within a complex operational environment interfacing with multiple, internal and external senior and customer stakeholder groups is required.

Proven track record of managing business profit and loss accounts. Strong leadership skills focused on performance and productivity and the development and review of team key performance goals . Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing growth and change strategies

What else do I need to know?

This role is based at HM Naval Base Clyde, located 6 miles north of Helensburgh in the West of Scotland. We are well placed for commuter links to Glasgow and the wider region, with easy access for car and public transport.

We require an element of flexibility for this role with the expectation of being available to provide management support to the out of hour's team if required.
