Required Security Clearance: NATO Secret

• Maintains infrastructure in all IaaS data centers regardless of location;
• Prepare and install new transmission paths to support IaaS services and intra-agency initiatives;
• Build and manage the IaaS records store for configuration management;
• Plan, install and configure rack mounted equipment to deliver to other SDMs;
• Provide change management support to IaaS;
• Manage all media within the data center that is not in system;
• Provide expertise on the implementation of physical security for IaaS data centers;
• Execute duties related to TEMPEST compliance;
• Design and build new solutions to increase IaaS capacity; execute the same externally as required;
• Provide technical and professional contributions to the conception, development and execution of IaaS projects;
• Participate in the recruitment and selection of other staff, to maintain the authorized complement at the highest quality;
• Give technical briefings and presentations; write and/or review technical reports, designs and point-papers for publication;
• Deputizes for higher grade staff;
• Performs other duties as may be required.

Requirements

• Required Security Clearance: NATO Secret
• Higher Vocational Training in a relevant discipline with 3 years post related experience.
• Or Secondary Educational qualification with 5 years post related experience.
• Recent experience of working in a data center at the technician level or higher
• Detailed knowledge and experience of:
• Data center cabling and infrastructure
• MTP Fiber installations
• Rack and aisle buildout and installation
• TEMPEST knowledge
• Health and Safety regulation familiarity concerning data centers
• Electrical safety protocols; some knowledge of power engineering and design
• Maintaining a configuration management environment
• Fibre channel environments
• ITIL Foundation certification
• Certified in fiber optic splicing and termination; basic installer's level certification
• Desirable Experience and Education:
• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in a STEM field
• CCNA Data Center certification or equivalent
• Health and Safety Certification
• Cisco Certified Network Associate certification (or equivalent)
• Knowledge of Cyber Security techniques to protect information as related to data center management
• Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements;
• Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization.
