Required Security Clearance: NATO Secret

  • Providing level 1 support (L1) for SJLSG local area network;
  • Managing network active components installed locally switches (access, distribution, core layers), routers, WAPs ,other Configuration Items (CIs) deployed in SJLSG providing L1 support;
  • Providing L1 support for the wireless infrastructure in SJLSG compound, managing and maintaining wireless components WAPs, WLC;
  • Being responsible for doing maintenance of entire local cabling infrastructure, managing fibers connectivity, copper, patch panels, wall drops etc.;
  • Providing level 1 support for passive network infrastructure;
  • Providing level 1 support for managing and maintaining Point of Presence (POP) deployed in SJLSG;
  • Direct 1st level fault resolution on Local Area Network (LAN) elements covering wired as well as wireless network infrastructure;
  • Day-to-day operation of local and remote network sites: wired and wireless infrastructure including some tasks that require installation and troubleshooting of physical layer;
  • Advises on fault diagnosis throughout North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) sites utilizing a number of management platforms (e.g. HP Network Automation, CA Spectrum, Splunk);
  • Liaise and collaborate internally throughout the NCI Agency Service Line infrastructures and to external organizations for fault rectification activities;
  • Being responsible for the maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures within the LAN Cell;
  • Operate provided management tool-sets and capabilities;
  • Investigating and proposing long term solutions encountering equipment and configuration problems;
  • Create and update network diagrams using various tools and applications such as Microsoft Visio;
  • Be accountable for the hardware and software part of network equipment like switches, routers, WAPs, network fault analysis devices (e.g. Fluke);
  • When required, coordinates on-site surveys, validations and system acceptance testing into the Local Area Network;
  • Assist and support NCIA Engineers under scheduled ASIs (Approved Service Interruption), providing L1 support;
  • Perform other duties as may be required.

Requirements

  • Required Security Clearance: NATO Secret
  • High School degree or equivalent in a field related to the function of the post;
  • Or exceptionally, the lack of a High School degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate's particular abilities or at least 5 years extensive and progressive expertise in the duties related to the function of the post;
  • Knowledge and experience about administrating and managing active network components (switches, WAPs, routers);
  • Knowledge and experience about the management and maintenance of wireless network infrastructure;
  • Practical skills with management and maintenance of passive infrastructure, managing all types of cabling connectivity fibers, coppers;
  • Experience in all aspects of maintenance, repair and operation of networks and related equipment;
  • Knowledge of Wireless technologies and concepts;
  • Familiarity with networking tools (e.g. HP Network Automation, CA Spectrum, Splunk, Cisco Prime, DNA Center, etc.);
  • Familiarity with any ticketing system regarding networking issues;
  • Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements – is recommended but not mandatory;
  • Knowledge of NATO responsibilities, structure and organization, including Allied Command Operations (ACO) and Allied Command Transformation (ACT);
  • It will be considered as asset if you hold the following certifications:
  • CCNA Cisco Certified Network Associate;
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation or Higher;
  • Any other IT industry network certifications.
