Job Description Summary Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.
To manage all aspects of control & application functions within the transformer business. Acts in order to respect the product performance (quality), project cost and time to market assure product design for manufacture. Co-ordinate all the necessary factors/data related to the project in order to achieve the project goals. Communicate with other GE units to ensure implementation of standards and best practices.

Job Description Roles and Responsibilities
  • Create definitions of parts, modules, and assemblies in the form of 2D cross sections, 3D models, tolerance stack-ups, and various electronic data formats to support analysis, manufacturing, assembly, tooling, and inspection
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members
     

Required Qualifications
  • This role requires advanced experience in the Engineering/Technology & Product Definition. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or a high school diploma with relevant experience in electrical engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in controls engineering
  • Experience of the full product design & manufacturing development lifecy cle
  • Experience in control equipment design and / or manufacture.
  • Experience in project management.

Desired Characteristics
  • Good understanding of   power transformer development methodologies would be an advantage.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems independently.
  • Ability to document, plan and execute programs
  • Ability to work as an individual contributor and prioritize information for   decision making.
