Job Details

The BCH alliance is committed to using professionals in communications to support the forces' collaborated departments and activities. In a time of great change, communication is of the utmost importance in ensuring the whole workforce are well informed and have the right information to be as effective as possible.

The BCH Communications team was set up in 2019 to provide communications support to the collaborated units across BCH strategic alliance -including JPS, HR, ICT, Information Management and many other tri-force projects, as well as co-ordinating communication responses on issues that affect the three forces.

Following a post-implementation review, this small professional team is recruiting for a new member of staff. It's an exciting opportunity and the right candidate will be ambitious about the contribution they can make to communication both internally and externally.

The Senior Communications Officer post requires a high degree of experience and self-motivation and holders of this post are expected to be advising senior managers on media, PR and internal communication issues.

To join our team, you'll need to demonstrate an understanding of police activity and have knowledge or experience of public relations/journalism and/or internal communication.

Finally, you should have excellent communication and computer skills.
