Job Details

Calls can come at any time, so there is a core shift pattern which covers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our Communications Operators answer emergency and non-emergency calls and direct resources across the County.

As one of the team, you'll receive extensive training and on-the-job support to prepare you for the challenging variety of calls and roles ahead.

No matter what type of call comes in, your compassion, patience and professionalism must remain and that means thinking on your feet whilst providing reassurance and obtaining the relevant information to enable the correct deployment of appropriate police responses as necessary.

In return we will offer you an attractive salary and a busy operational role where you can play a key part in protecting the public from harm. The starting salary is £28,2725 inclusive of shift allowance, if you work full-time, and you can earn up to £33,618 per annum inclusive of shift allowance if you stay in this role and gain yearly pay increments.
