AWE are currently recruiting for a Safety Case Manager to ensure the safety of product and programme activities at RNAD Coulport by producing and maintaining Safety Case and supporting documentation.

Location - Coulport, near Helensburgh (Scotland)

Salary - £42,650 - £48,000 dependent on experience

You will be required to:

  • Support the production of a full suite of Site Safety Justification documentation for all current and new activities / projects
  • Support documentation through relevant processes
  • Required to interface with relevant internal and external committees and bodies.
  • Assist in the production/assessment of Authorisation Condition Management Documents
  • Represent the Alliance and AWE at meetings and committees as necessary
  • Ensure that the planned Safety Case outputs are delivered to time, cost and to schedule
  • Progress emergent and outstanding issues affecting outputs, completing investigations and reviews
  • Ensure queries are answered in a timely manner to meet production timelines
  • Maintain all relevant Safety Case systems i.e. live files, Safety Case justifications, plans, projects and actions
  • Produce and / or support annual reviews for activities to agreed programme
  • Provide technical support and Periodic Safety Review process
  • Maintain and promote high personal standards in Environment, Safety, Health, Security and Quality
  • Accountable for leading, coaching & developing a team at a local level to deliver team & personal objectives safely & securely to meet our operational plans.

To be successful in this role you should have the following:

Essential Skills

  • Previously have worked within a Safety Case Team, supporting and writing safety cases
  • Effective interpersonal, presentation and communication skills on technical and non-technical matters
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities in a multi task role delivering to challenging timescales
  • Well-developed MS Office skills
  • Ability to work precisely and accurately, particularly in producing written documents
  • Be able to work effectively as part of an integrated team to achieve a common goal

You must be willing and able to travel within the UK, with the occasional overnight stay. Due to the nature of the role, you will have a flexible approach to working overtime, as required, to meet operational deadlines.

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
