About the role

Help us make a different and support the UK Military and Aviation
We are looking for someone dynamic, ambitious and eager to portray the professional image of The Babcock Mechanical Transport (MT) Department based at Northolt.

The difference the MT Drivers will make:
The MT Department supplies transportation solutions to Royal Air Force (RAF) Northolt on a daily 24/7/365 basis.

The aim is to help generate significant value by further enhancing the reputation of the Northolt MT Department:
• Be working in a small but highly effective team where the highest of standards will be expected from both a technical and behavioural perspective
• Want to collaborate with us on this challenging and rewarding journey and make a positive impact on our business

What do I need to do the role?

Who we're looking for:
• You are someone who can to carry out driving duties within the scope of current Road Traffic Legislation, Road Transport Law and Defence Service Publications.

We have a strong team ethos in a fast-paced aviation business with solid business credentials where we can offer you stability and welfare in the workplace.

What you will need to do the role:
• You'll need a current and valid Driving Licence
• You must pass a Colour Perception test for aerodrome access and should be colour perception (CP) standard of Red Green CP2 (safe) or CP3 (defective/safe).

• Ideally you will have a:
o Driver Vehicle Standard Authority (DVSA) Category B Licence with no more than three current Penalty Points
• After a successful Probationary Period of six months, you may be offered the chance to gain the following driving licences and supporting cards:
o Passenger Carrying Vehicles (PCV) DVSA Licence Category D1 or D
o Large Goods Vehicles (LGV) DVSA Licence Category C1 or C
o Driver Certificate of Professional Competency (DCPC) PCV & LGV

Where training is given to the candidate following a satisfactory employee probation period of six months, this may be the subject of a bonding agreement of up to two years.

What else do I need to know?
• The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
