Senior Design Engineer
Location: Reading / Basingstoke Area
£42,650 - £65,000 dependent on experience

Our Senior Design Engineers provide a pivotal role in delivering, managing and verifying designs to ensure that facility sector/area design is fully co-ordinated, integrated and meets the needs of all the AWE stakeholders e.g. engineering, operations and safety.
They will lead the design co-ordination and closeout outstanding design challenges associated with the operational layout in process, plant rooms and external areas.
The role requires co-ordination with multiple stakeholders and supports the transfer of knowledge between projects and end users as facilities and buildings transfer to operational areas.
Key deliverables include:
Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislative documentation / standards associated with design engineering
Applying technical expertise and knowledge to confirm designs are prepared which comply with relevant legislation, standards and requirements
Producing progress reports
Researching and providing evidence to verify requirements
Ideally candidates will be able to demonstrate:
HNC/HND or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline and ideally possess a professional membership of an engineering institution at IEng level or above.
Knowledge of legislation and standards applicable to engineering design
Ability to work as part of a multi-discipline team delivering engineering designs and outputs which support safe operations
Good attention to detail to check and review design engineers work
All candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas.
