We are currently recruiting for 2x Developer roles (Inside IR35) for The Ministry of Justice.  This role requires Active Security Clearance.

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) priorities include improving public safety and reducing reoffending by reforming prisons, probation and youth justice, and building a justice system which makes access to justice swifter and more certain for all citizens whatever their background. Project professionals in the MoJ help to improve the government’s ability to protect the public and reduce reoffending, and to provide a more effective, transparent and responsive criminal justice system for victims and the public.

We are looking for a Developer to help build and improve:

  • robust and scalable data pipelines from a variety of source systems to our Analytical Platform
  • cloud infrastructure in AWS using infrastructure as code tools
  • workflows to automate repetitive data and analytical tasks
  • internal tools, utilities and packages for use by the data engineering team
  • self-service tools that enable analysts and data scientists to get the most value from our data

You’ll have the following skills:

Essential

  • Experience with Python and SQL
  • Experience with version control tools, ideally git
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, ideally GitHub Actions
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools, ideally Pulumi or Terraform
  • Experience with cloud computing environments, ideally AWS
  • Experience with container-based workflows, ideally using Docker

Desirable

  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools, ideally Airflow or AWS Step Functions
  • Experience with Spark
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience of working in agile teams
