Full-time, 42 hours per week

Working shift patterns to help support a 24/7 service

At RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, Serco has been providing multi-activity and engineering support since 1997. Serco proudly support the RAF and MoD, supplying around 20 different services onsite, from engine and aircraft maintenance, to fuelling and ground control services.

RAF Brize Norton is the largest operating base within the Royal Air Force, providing air transport and air-to-air refuelling to the RAF fleet, and as a PAX & Cargo Operative, you'll contribute enormously to the vital work carried out here. You'll also be part of the wider team, with 5,800 service personnel, 1,200 contractors and 300 civil servants on site.

Working within the Serco Movements PAX & Cargo team, you will help to deliver a service that operates on a 24/7/365 basis. This role will focus on:
  • Manage the passenger handling and passenger processing of all flights through the Air Terminal.
  • Manage passenger check-in for all departing aircraft.
  • Arrange for passenger bags to go through the security scanner as well as pre-positioning bags.
  • Manage the call forward to the departure lounge for all departing aircraft.


What we are looking for

To Fulfil the requirements of the position, this role requires an individual who has previously held a like-for-like role within the forces to ensure they hold the correct qualifications. These include:
  • STC 530E AIRCORE Check-In (Passenger Staff only)
  • STC 530D AIRCORE Reservations (Passenger Staff only)
  • STC 1902 VITAL Consignment Tracking (Cargo only)
  • STC 2515 Dangerous Goods by Surface (Cargo only)

The successful candidate must also hold a full UK driving licence, while experience and qualifications with using a Forklift would be highly desirable.
