Job Description Summary Responsible for activities related to the construction, building and commissioning on customer site, from site mobilization, through civil, erection and commissioning work, as well as management activities related to this scope. Impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. Impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team. Has significant input into priorities. Guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role. The role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment.

Job Description Roles and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for ENTIRE scope of site activities during OTR phase, acting under the direction and on behalf of the overall project leader. Leads site team and manages execution of the project scope of work. Could also be managing multiple sites for the project. Ensures schedule, quality and cost are in compliance with contractual obligations, company policy and local regulations.
  • Strong leadership in Health & Safety with emphasis on development of risk mitigation plan and their effective implementation.
  • Ability to develop of strong relationships with all project stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Capable of leading a diverse and multidisciplinary site team towards project objectives. Creates opportunities to build the project team spirit through team building events and positive communication.
  • Ensures a broad definition of the team persists, including the customer, partners, contractors and all disciplines/locations. Actively works to minimise silos. Holds all team members accountable to meet their commitments.
    Immediately addresses individuals/ organisations that detract from a collaborative environment. Looks for opportunities to motivate and reward the team, such as milestone celebrations and project bonus. Celebrates great team achievements
  • Extensive understanding and practice of sub-contracting strategies and their execution including negotiations of variations, recovery & claims.
  • Hands on knowledge of Operational Excellence / Lean principles and tools as applied to C&C activities for power system works.
  • Capable of developing overall C&C schedule covering all disciplines and obtain buy in from all participants
  • Detailed understanding of main contract requirements related to the construction & commissioning scope. Able to identify deviations and put in place corrective plans.
  • Seeks and Implements changes / lessons learned to continuously improve C&C processes and tools. 
  • Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

Required Qualifications
  • This role requires significant experience in the Project Management & Site Management. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
