Job Description Summary The role will be working with the team of system engineers to support capturing customer's technical enquiry and to assist in designing the cost-effective overall solution for an HVDC installation utilizing the PES power electronic solutions.  The candidate will be contributing to total cost reduction and the specification of the main (high-value) items of bought-out equipment. The successful candidate will also be involved in the development and industrialisation of solutions tools and processes.

Job Description Essential Responsibilities:

Under guidance, the candidate will be assigned to assist in various system engineering tasks, such as main circuit design, insulation coordination studies, equipment lifecycle management or Reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM) studies and management.

The candidate will strengthen their technical, business, and leadership skills by completing an education curriculum through training courses, mentoring or job assignments.  Program participants will also work on a group project where they design, execute and present the results to the executive managers of the business.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • The candidate will have completed 2 years of degree level in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with modules covering power systems and/or electrical energy transportation.
  • Candidates should be familiar with concepts of power electronics, high voltage engineering and passive components such as inductors and capacitors. 
  • Knowledge of electrical power systems modelling & analysis, insulation co-ordination, technical domain tools or high voltage engineering would be an advantage,
  • Willingness to develop ability in product design, validation and industrialisation
  • Candidates must be able to fulfil a 12-month continuous employment and have the legal authorization to work in UK.  We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job.
