I'm hiring a head of PMO for a large government organisation. This is a 6 month initial contract for a 2 year project. The role IS in side IR35 BUT the rate is uplifted to take this into account.
- ensures that all projects, programs, and portfolios are aligned with the company’s standards, methods, policies, and agreed-upon strategy
- standardizes metrics, tools, procedures, and techniques enhancing where weaknesses are identified.
- initiates and controls all programme and project management processes across towers and projects
- monitors PPM progress and creates reports for executive management to identify areas of strength / weakness which requires their attention.
- Prepares monthly reports for client executive boards.
- conducts deep dives on red/amber projects to determine root causes of deviation from green and ensures action plans are in place to enable a return to green, tracking and holding programme leads and PMs to account in driving to resolution
- collates/creates resource forecasts, aligns demands against supply, highlights and works to address gaps, makes decisions related to the distribution of resources on an enterprise level
- manages the overall account risk process ensuring risks are managed at all levels of the organization with an appropriate management strategy. Provides oversight of risk calibration to ensure consistency in approach with risks being escalated to appropriate levels of senior / executive management.
- Oversees the production of the Programme Management artifacts for the Transformation Director including but not limited to the Programme Schedule, RIAD, Resource Plan, Finance plan.
- Establishes, operates and maintains effective internal and external governance across the programme where necessary collaborating with and ensuring integration with the client.
- Drives cost efficiencies across the programme
- Has run Enterprise PMOs or Programme Management Offices in the past with full lifecycle experience.
- Defines Roles and Responsibilities constructing RASCI models to ensure common understanding across functions.
- helps plan, build, and monitor a strategic project portfolio
To take accountability for the successful delivery of projects, by directing, leading and driving the project delivery
Key Responsibilities
- Guiding and directing project managers, ensuring that effective project controls are established and maintained for all projects within their span of control;
- Influencing, organising and directing project teams, setting clear goals and establishing priorities;
- Effectively engaging the customer, subcontractors, third parties and project stakeholders throughout the duration of each project, developing positive, enduring relationships (up to and including “C” level);
- Ensuring that a clear understanding of projects’ progress, plans, risk and status is regularly, clearly and accurately reported, identifying and resolving conflicts wherever they arise.
