Senior Java Developer

Location: Croydon(Remote flexibility )

Duration: 4 months [initially, possible to extend as well]

EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY: Intelligent Resource is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Java Developer to support the definition of the client portfolio and technology architectures, at a key Government Services client based in Croydon remote flexibility, on an initial 4-month contract. 

The post holder will work through Intelligent Resource for Sopra Steria, a European leader in digital transformation, providing one of the most comprehensive portfolios of end-to-end service offerings on the market: consulting, systems integration, software development, infrastructure management, and business process services. 

Role Overview:

Engaging with BA's and specialist experts, such as Security and Infrastructure Architecture, in order to understand the delivery of the overall design taking into account specific technical aspects. Must have strong Java skills, Spring Boot and AWS.

Key Skills:

• Skilled in the technologies used include Java, Docker, JBOSS FUSE, Postgres, Java 1.8, Kubernetes, Container, Cloud (AWS), API Gateway, CI/CD pipeline drone or jenkins
• Demonstrates growth mindset, enthusiastic about learning new technologies quickly, and applying the gained knowledge to address business problems.
• Capable of collaborating with stakeholders and project leaders to understand requirements, deliverables, and set expectations on tasks that you will be responsible for Consistently demonstrates follow-through in honouring commitments to customers and colleagues.
• Accepts the challenge of unfamiliar tasks
• Working with source control systems (Git)
• Agile experience using Scrum techniques and JIRA/Confluence.
• Confidence in presenting information and responding to questions from management, business and users
• Proactively solve problems and anticipate upcoming issues and provide solutions

• Thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Development, Testing) and exposure to Agile or iterative SDLCs

• The ideal candidate needs to be an enthusiastic individual and who has exceptional customer-facing skills with a proven capability to deliver technical solutions.
• Have a keen interest in innovating with emerging technology, be networked into the industry, and you will have the drive and motivation to make a difference.
• Cloud delivery skills in Containers, AWS, and Proven record in developing as part of Digital programs with in-depth knowledge and experience of Agile delivery to the GDS requirements.
• Java and Open Source solutions, with knowledge of wider frameworks packages in niche areas such as content management and document management systems.
• Experience in designing systems for integration and re-use, using frameworks/standards, technologies, and design patterns such as API Gateways and TDD approach to development
• Designing solution and leading digital delivery teams to using Agile and DevOps methodologies to ensure automation and delivery pipelines flowing from development, testing, infrastructure as code to automated deployment.
• A demonstrable record of coding solutions to key non-functional requirements including cyber/security policies, resilience, logging, errors, and scalability
• Pro-actively work with the colleagues to ensure delivery timelines are met.
