Commercial Manager, MoD, up to £467/day

The Ministry of Defence are seeking a Commercial Manager to join their team in Corsham.

Initial contracts will run for 10 months and offer a rate up to £467/day.

IR35 STATUS: Inside IR35. This engagement has been assessed by the public body as Inside IR35 legislation. Candidates would be required to operate through an umbrella company on this engagement.

This role requires Active SC (Security Check) clearance. Applicants require active SC clearance or the willingness to go through clearance before starting on site. Candidates with current clearance will be preferred.

Specific Responsibilities

• Act as the day to day commercial support for several Programme CORTISONE client-side contracts.
• Working independently and leading on the commercial elements of the delivery of a number of procurement projects relating to the implementation of the CORTISONE programme.
• Ensuring that Procurement and Commercial Strategies and associated sourcing processes comply with the requirements of UK Public Procurement Regulations and are designed to deliver outcomes in an efficient manner.
• Ensuring MOD contracts are set up to deliver value for money throughout the contract lifecycle and negotiating in-life savings and enhanced business benefits.
• Being responsible for full contract management, from ongoing change management through to developing effective and fair working relationships with suppliers by embedding robust contract and supplier governance processes.
• Ability to develop and maintain robust commercial relationships in the demanding Defence marketplace and quickly understand the legal and regulatory framework within which the MOD operates.

Essential Skills

• Evidence of creating and delivering commercial strategies
• Experience of leading commercial delivery of procurement projects in both a competitive and non-competitive environment.
• Experience of running procurement exercises via OJEU and government frameworks.
• Evidence of working collaboratively as a member of a team and building strong relationships with colleagues in other disciplines as well as industry.

Desirable Skills

• MCIPS qualified
• Experience in MOD and/or NHS public procurement
• Experience of Digital/Technology procurement

Candidate Eligibility

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, this role will not offer Visa sponsorship. Tier 2 – General visas are cannot be accepted. This role requires that candidates be willing to undergo BPSS (DS) Baseline Personnel Security Standard (with a Disclosure Scotland).
