These uniquely challenging times, call for new and innovative approaches to continue keeping the public and the country safe. As we move away from the old Crowded Places Model, to a new broader approach of Protecting Publicly Accessible Locations (PALs), the scope of our requirements has grown and transformed. We need to design and deliver a new wider approach to security, covering key strands across the Government and the Public Sector – while supporting the emerging Protect Duty legislation that is being considered.

As Training Development Officer, you’ll ensure the consistent delivery of all NaCTSO training of Counter Terrorism Security Advisors (CTSA), Counter Terrorism Awareness Advisors (CTAA) and Counter Terrorism (CT) Prepare resources throughout the CT network. You’ll also oversee the training and accreditation of lead government departments and private sector organisations – all in line with City and Guilds and others external verifications. You’ll support the management of training and accreditation with the office of the NCPP, regionally based Protect and Prepare Leads, CT Units, Local Resilience Forums and other partners – making sure that there is consistent capability across the UK.

Based in London, with the flexibility to work remotely, you’ll bring with you a working knowledge of CT protective security and an understanding of the National Risk Register. You’ll already be familiar with Protect and Prepare products and plans, and confident supporting the submission of CTSA licence applications or CT Prepare CPD evidence. An excellent communicator with exceptional organisation skills, you’ll have experience of assessing evidence submitted for CPD or equivalent as well.

Key Responsibilities

• The post holder will be required to do the following:
• Supporting the training, licensing and accreditation of all CT Protect and Prepare resources across the CT Network of the UK
• Supporting the CT protect and prepare training, licensing and accreditation of all relevant Lead Government Departments and private sector bodies where required.
• Ensure all relevant licence submissions (inc CTSA) follow the City and Guilds accreditation standards 9200 and the City and Guilds Centre Manual
• Asses CT Prepare CPD evidence submissions to ensure they achieve the required standardSupport all relevant CT Protect and Prepare personnel in the compilation of CPD and licensing requirements
• Support the delivery of NaCTSO training products including Protect and Prepare Induction Course, CTSA Foundation Course, Safety & Security in Radiological Sources and Safety & Security in Biological Substances, Maritime, Aviation and Award in Education and Training amongst others
• Engage with the CTSA, CTAA and CT Prepare network through a series of national and regional meetings
• Maintain effective communication between NaCTSO and regional resources
• Support Line management requests as required

This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) level before taking up the post; with a willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) once in post, if required.
