Job Description Summary The tendering specialist, part of the M&D business, will be responsible for supporting all technical and costing aspects of Transformer Monitoring System (TMS) proposals/bids by regional GE business units.

Job Description Essential Responsibilities
  • Own and effectively manage the tendering support process between the regional business units and COE Lisburn. Engaging a multifunctional team along the process (project management, engineering, sourcing, etc).  from the RFP receipt, to the successful signature of the contract and transference to the execution team.
  • Co-ordinating multifunctional engineering teams in the development of conceptual solutions, technical work scope & specifications for project applications.
  • Interface with PL management team and regional segment leaders to manage tendering process eg. EAS, FI-08.
  • Ensure scope of delivery at tender submission is clear, with risks and constraints identified.
  • Implement TMS Tendering KPIs and periodically communicate to stakeholders. 

Qualifications / Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in an engineering environment.
  • 5+ years of experience of transformer/substation projects/products preferably in tendering, sales, application engineering, contract management or equivalent area.

Desired Characteristics
  • Knowledge of M&D products, services and processes (GE employees only)
  • Experience in transformer and transformer monitoring equipment (TMS)
  • Experience of Oracle ERP system
  • Natural leadership skills
  • Effective, excellent written/verbal communicator at all levels
  • Excellent team working skills
  • Knowledge of commercial, financial and legal regulations
