Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Hampshire

Currently have a requirement for an Security Cleared Senior Infrastructure Engineer, to assist my client on a 6 month contract, based at my clients offices in Salisbury and Portsmouth, Hampshire, with the ability to split time between office and remote working. 

Due to the nature of the role and the time scale and requirements issued by the client, candidates have been advised to hold current and active SC clearance for this role, with the ability to obtain further clearance at the clients request.

In addition, we have been informed by the client that this role have been determined to fall inside of IR35 regulations.

Providing third-line support to site teams and projects on this established and large scale account, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Systems Integration Engineer to cover both hardware and software support on a large and challenging secure site.

It is essential that the successful candidate is willing to undergo a Security Clearance process for this role and is prepared to go to advanced clearance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide integration reports on new software and hardware entering the estate
• Package and distribute software components to the Enterprise using Microsoft SCCM
• Assist with support of the corporate environment whilst maintaining its integrity
• Administration of support queues Incident and workload management
• Progress incidents and problems to their conclusion
• Report anomalies and escalate issues to Team Leader
• Provide third-line support to site teams and projects
• Writing, reviewing and maintaining processes and procedures
• Suggest improvements and innovations (CSI&I) that could assist introduce efficiencies into the environment
• Work with business and security frameworks (ITIL, JSP, IMM

Essential Skills & Experience

• SCCM Administration Software distribution, OS deployment and monthly Patches
• Scripting PowerShell, VBS etc.
• Software integration and compatibility testing
• In depth knowledge of : Group policy, and client end points
• Operating system build and delivery mechanisms
• Good RCA within a complex environment
• Good software packaging knowledge.
• Able to effectively troubleshoot application packages

• Application virtualisation APP-V, MED-V
• Endpoint device control
• Secure remote access
• ITIL v3

Essential Skills

• The Senior Infrastructure Engineer will have sound knowledge of the latest developments and future strategy for their technology area, and an awareness of its application within past and present Sopra Steria engagements
• Experience of leading a small technical team to complete project tasks.
• Experience of working in a project environment.
• Experience within a customer support environment and an appreciation of the impact of problems on the customer business.
• Documentation Skills, with the ability to produce documents for use by an end user, as well as operational procedure documentation for use by service desk personnel.
• Extensive experience in Infrastructure Management

Desirable Skills

• Technical Infrastructure skill in an enterprise environment, for example: Advanced Infrastructure skills covering administration, fault finding/diagnosis and fix, File/Print Clusters, enterprise thin client environment an advantage, messaging an advantage, virtualization an advantage, hardware build and evaluation experience
• Experience of working to tight SLA s.
• Accreditation to technical level or equivalent essential (ex: MCSE) and accreditation in another technology area preferred.
