We are looking for a dynamic and talented individual to join our team at GE Monitoring & Diagnostics in Lisburn. Working within the Global Supply Chain division you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of projects to support the growth of our business.
Job Description The candidate must be enrolled as a student in an engineering/science field of degree at an accredited UK or Irish university. The candidate must have a permit to work in the UK for the time period of the internship.

The Role

Responsibilities will include:
- Analysis of existing processes and execution of improvements
- Root cause analysis
- Experimental testing of dissolved gas analytics / sensor technology
- Production line re-structuring
- Project planning and execution
- Supporting new product introduction (NPI)
- Support of daily production
- Improve H&S and Ergonomics
- Learn and apply lean tools
- Process automation
- Document processes

Essential Criteria:
- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential
- Has or currently are pursuing a degree in Engineering/Science (preferably Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical and Mechanical, but all considered)
- Competency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel
- Demonstrated time management capability
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment or independently on multiple projects with strict completion deadlines.
- Good writing skills, accuracy and an eye for detail.
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous industrial work experience
- Ability to collaborate across various functions and levels within the operations team
- Confident at programming in excel and managing or developing databases/macros
- Familiar with programming language example Labview or Matlab
- Drive to eliminate waste
- Enthusiastic and imaginative
