THE OPPORTUNITY

As a member of the wider MCR Global family, you will be joining our small, but rapidly expanding team of consultants here in the United Kingdom.  This opportunity is for an Aeronautical Engineer (AeroSystems) to work at Ministry of Defence (MoD) Abbeywood to provide engineering support, advice and recommendations.  This opportunity falls within IR35 regulations.

THE CANDIDATE

We are seeking a forward thinking, pro-active Aeronautical Engineer (AeroSystems) with previous General Aircraft Systems experience, developing, reviewing and updating key documents including Statement of Operating Intent and Usage, Air System Integration Systems Documents, Airworthiness Document Set and Minimum Equipment List.  Very much a self-starter, you will also be an analytical thinker who is able to deliver technical and airworthiness evidence to a very high standard.

THE ROLE

Primarily the role will focus on:

  • Provision of Aeronautical Engineering support, advice and recommendations to OC Helicopters, delivering artefacts to support the MAA Regulatory Publications (MRP) Regulatory Articles (RA) compliance.
  • Develop, review and update various key documents including Statement of Operating Intent and Usage, Air System Integration Systems Documents and Minimum Equipment Lists.
  • Management of Air Document Sets.
  • Airworthiness management assisting in the Type Sustainment activities to include Air Safety and Airworthiness Issues management to main capability/availability.
  • Provide Safety Engineering support assisting in the assessment and preparation of project specific safety products; equipment contribution to Risk and TASA.
  • Design change assist in the certification, safety assessment and artefact deliverables, including the configuration, release to service and equipment safety assessments.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • An HNC/HND or equivalent qualification level in Engineering or Science related discipline.
  • Engineering Technician or has demonstrated equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
  • Typically, an Associate member of a relevant Professional Engineering/Science Institute or equivalent body.
  • Experienced in both Civil and Military aircraft environments and, in particular, must have relevant and recent experience within a Military Registered Civil Owned Aircraft (MRCOA) constructs
  • Experienced delivering artefacts to support MPR RA compliance for Design Sustainment and Type Design with the in-Service arena to include areas:
    • Airworthiness Document Set management, assist in reviewing, updating and developing the key documents including Statement of Operating Intent and Usage, Air System Integration System Document and Minimum Equipment List.
    • Continuing Airworthiness management assist in the Type Sustainment activities to include Air Safety and Airworthiness Issues management to maintain capability/availability.
    • Assurance management assist in the governance activities to include integrity work groups, Platform Safety panels and Airworthiness Review Boards.
    • Safety Engineering support assist in the assessment and preparation of the project specific Safety products; Equipment Contribution to Risk and TASA.
    • Design change assist in the certification, safety assessment and artefact deliverables including the configuration, release to service and equipment safety assessment.
  • Experience of working across a wide stakeholder community for both industry and military domains.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Must be in possession of an active SC security clearance.
  • Must be a UK National only.
