Job Title: Head of Technical Security

Base location: Birmingham

Salary: Up to £85,000

As the Head of Technical Security you will provide the technical leadership and subject matter expertise to guide the design, implementation and ongoing operation of the systems and services used by Serco to provide security-enforcing functions. This role spans 'Security Architectural Design' and 'Security Operational' activities so we'll be looking for you to use your expertise to provide technical leadership of these functions within the Security Tower and support wider design and bidding activities across Serco.

What you'll need to do the role

Firstly, you'll need broad Information Security knowledge, with a deep and current technical understanding of security relating to applications, infrastructure & cloud services and detailed knowledge of security-enforcing technologies. (firewalls, SIEM tools, Identity and Access Management, etc.). You'll need strong operational Experience, with demonstrable experience in leading technical / operational security functions or programmes. It's highly desirable that you are a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) with proven practical experience working with technical and architectural security. Lastly, you must be willing to support urgent operational incidents outside of standard office hours where necessary.
