Job Description Summary To join the Installation/M&E Department of GE Renewable Energy/Wind Offshore. The department is responsible in engineering the wind turbine component required for offshore installation, providing the methods, transportation aids and installation tools and manpower, whilst holding responsibility of all activities and operations related to offshore installation of the Wind Turbine Generator.

Job Description Role Summary/Purpose:
The Doggerbank projects include the provision of circa 200 Haliade-X wind turbines to be installed offshore UK from 2023. The candidate will join the project covering electrical completion works during turbine installation including tower pre-assembly at the marshalling harbor until energization phase and pre commissioning.

Reporting to the Installation and M&E package manager, the candidate will be responsible in preparing project documentation and key deliverables such as, but not limited to, RAMS, work instructions, checklists, equipment lists and manning plans whilst gaining client approvals prior to execution. The candidate will also be responsible in assisting the project team throughout preparation activities and execution readiness in terms of equipment and manpower.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the issuance of technical contractual documentation and other documentations needed to execute the operations such as specifications, coordination of studies, using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures and program requirements, in accordance with the contract and with GE Quality and EHS processes.

  • Develop work instructions related to electrical completion work such as cable connections and associated tests and energization procedures, main transformer pre-start checks, cable pulling and tie-in and cable looping.

  • Develop work instruction related to mechanical completion such as ladder connection, cables spacer Hydac management, bolt tightening and flange de-ovalization. This mechanical scope will be carried out with the support of the GE mechanical Engineering team.

  • Develop work instruction for pre-commissioning operation related turbine lights, HVAC system and turbine lift.

  • Supervise the RFQ process of the manpower selection together with the package manager and the project sourcing team and participate in the selection of the manpower subcontractor for the M&E activities at the marshalling harbor, the installation vessel and the SOV's

  • Pro-actively Implement execution methods and sound processes, leading electrical operations at the marshalling harbor and offshore to meet the installation pace. Gather feedback and lesson learned from the teams to update documentation as required.

  • Liaise with the Tower pre-assembly Engineer and the marshalling harbor team for the organization of the activities inside the towers, provide specialist support in the field to ensure safe operations to required QA standards.

  • Participate with the marine coordinator and the Installation technician team leader for the preparation of the different offshore teams, the preparation of the planning in line with the contract, the selection of the profiles

  • Participate to the preparation of the container tools with the logistic back office team

  • Participate in the risk assessment of technical aspects of the project and the development and application of appropriate risk mitigation measures.

  • Support vessel operations during M&E phases

Qualifications/Requirements
  • University degree or equivalent in electrical engineering or technician with +5 years of field experience ideally gained offshore or onshore wind farm

Eligibility Requirements
  • Experienced in electrical engineering for cable deployment and cable connections (LV to HV)
  • Experienced in electrical diagram and routine tests
  • Experienced in bolt tightening process (Mechanical)
  • Good knowledges in electrical regulations (UK and US)
  • Offshore standards for marine operations (DNV, BV)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
