Job Description Summary High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) converters and the forthcoming "HVDC Grid" is a very exciting and dynamic field of power engineering. With its metres-long measurements and tens of tonnes of weight, the development of HVDC Valves is technically challenging that requires pioneering innovation and strong teamwork from a collection of various engineering disciplines.
The successful candidate will be part of a highly motivated, dynamic and rapidly growing team of engineers, either working on development of new power electronics applications for power systems or participating in execution tasks for mega HVDC turnkey projects.
Job Description Essential Responsibilities:
The role will involve working in a rotation between R&D and project deliveries, which provides an excellent opportunity for a motivated candidate to innovate, expand their engineering skill s and personal development within an internationally recognised organization in the field of HVDC. Under technical guidance, the candidate will be requested to take on tasks such as mechanical design modelling and drawings, drafting of design specification , calculation notes or interacting with other departments for product development and tender support.
The successful candidate will strengthen their technical , business, and leadership skills by completing a n education curriculum through training courses, mentoring or job assignment s . Program participants will a lso work on a group project where they design, execute and present the results to the executive managers of the business.

Qualifications /Requirements:
- The candidate will have completed 2 years of degree level in a related science such as power electronics and electrical engineering.
- The candidate should show familiarity with concepts of mechanical design such as component or structure design and good level of knowledge of PTC Creo 3.0 or simila r design tools .
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering, particularly solid mechanics.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering, particularly high voltage is a benefit.
- Ability to interact with other engineering disciplines and good at knowledge sharing .
- Willingness to develop ability in product design, validation and industrialisation .
- Candidates must be able to fulfil a 12-month continuous employment and have the legal authorization to work in UK. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job.
