About the Role
Here at Cavendish Nuclear we're looking to recruit a Process Engineer to join the Process team working within our nuclear business unit in Birchwood, Warrington. We are part of the FTSE 250 defence and engineering global organisation Babcock International and are based at a number of sites in the UK and overseas.

Our business continues to win new work and grow at a significant pace; as a result we are recruiting for talented, enthusiastic and driven engineers. As a Process Engineer you'll be working on exciting large-scale nuclear design, manufacture and support projects.

You'll be responsible for ensuring that codes and standards are correctly identified and applied to engineering and technical activities. You'll produce calculations, analyses, drawings, models, design base documentation and technical reports. You'll superve designers in the production of drawings and engineering models and producing technical specifications, providing technical support throughout the design, construction, installation, commissioning, operation and decommissioning phases of the project to ensure that the Design Intent is maintained.

Other outputs will include but won't be limited to;- carrying out design risk assessments; reviewing design changes; assessing concessions and technical queries; raising design quality plans for single discipline work packages; preparing designs for hazard identification and HAZOP studies.

What do I need to do the role?
You'll be educated to degree level in a STEM discipline and have experience of delivering technical engineering support/carrying out design activities, relating to process engineering supporting nuclear facilities.

We would also like you to have the following:-
  • Relevant technical experience/background
  • Knowledge of the design lifecycle
  • Sound knowledge and experience of the general regulations, legislation and standards that are applicable to nuclear process
  • A logical approach to problem solving and provision of advice
  • A questioning attitude
Lastly, you'll have good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written and report writing), the ability to work with others and independently, together with a flexible approach to allow for the reactive nature of the work we carry out.
