Job Description Summary As a shared Supply Chain and Sourcing Intern, the successful candidate will be assigned to the HVDC Supply Chain Team Leader and a Sourcing Commodity Leader, providing assistance in various Supply Chain and Sourcing execution tasks.

The successful candidate will be part of a highly motivated, dynamic and fast-moving Supply Chain and Sourcing organization where both business knowledge and Supply Chain management skills will be developed through day-to-day tasks.

Job Description Responsibilities Supply Chain
  • Investigate and Implement automatic Goods Receipt Process in SAP system
  • Investigate and Implement use of Barcoding within our Warehouse
  • Support MRP/MPS team using SAP system
  • Create Sales orders
  • Create Purchase Orders
  • Interrogate SAP requirements
  • Expedite Purchase Orders with External suppliers
  • Create Internal Equipment release notes

Responsibilities Sourcing
  • Assist in the production of KPI reports and dashboards
  • Investigate existing processes and interfaces with particular emphasis on the Request for Quotation (RFQ) Process
  • Assist in carrying out due diligence with respect to suppliers, financial and risk audit checks etc
  • Be operationally responsible for a portfolio of commodities under the guidance of the existing Sourcing team

The successful candidate will strengthen their business and leadership skills by completing an education curriculum through training courses, mentoring or job assignments.  Program participants will also work on a group project where they design, execute and present the results to the executive managers of the business.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • The candidate will have completed 2 years of degree level in a related subject, ideally Sourcing/Supply Chain or Business Management.  Previous Supply Chain/Sourcing experience in the same or similar environment would be advantageous
  • Good general understanding of the main business functions with commercial, contractual and financial awareness.
  • Good understanding of at least one industry ERP tool (e.g. SAP) or similar.
  • Excellent people management and communication skills, able to think laterally and motivated to challenge the status-quo.
  • Candidates must be able to fulfil a 12-month continuous employment and have the legal authorization to work in UK.  We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job.
