Business Case Writer, MoD, up to £474/day

The Ministry of Defence are seeking a Business Case Writer to join their team. The role is home based currently with occasional travel to Portsmouth and/or other locations throughout the South West. Candidates based anywhere in the South West of England will be considered.

Initial contracts will run for 3 months initially with the potential to extend and offer a rate up to £474/day.

IR35 STATUS: Inside IR35. This engagement has been assessed by the public body as Inside IR35 legislation. Candidates would be required to operate through an umbrella company on this engagement.

This role requires Active SC (Security Check) clearance. Applicants require active SC clearance or the willingness to go through clearance before starting on site. Candidates with current clearance will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing Infrastructure Requirements for capital projects in conjunction with Capability Owners, including challenging the requirements.
• Working with DIO and their supply chain in the identification of options, analysing and down-selecting of options, developing the preferred option(s), developing all required approvals documentation, including Business Cases, Review Notes and Information Notes, in accordance with the Navy Command (and where necessary wider Defence) processes, procedures and templates, in order to deliver major capital projects.
• The Monitoring and reporting on the progress of projects against agreed timelines/milestones, working with DIO Major Projects Portfolio team to address/mitigate any delays, adjusting forecasts where necessary and updating the IPMO and Customers.

• Articulating a requirement succinctly and coherently
• Raising approvals, challenging user requirements where required and developing options
• Strong Stakeholder engagement skills

Candidate Eligibility

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, this role will not offer Visa sponsorship. Tier 2 – General visas are cannot be accepted. This role requires that candidates be willing to undergo BPSS (DS) Baseline Personnel Security Standard (with a Disclosure Scotland).
