Project Managers provide a key role delivering the Home Office Transformation Portfolio. It is large, complex, and challenging and encompasses over 20 major and/or mission critical projects and programmes plus four business portfolios of change. There is a strong focus on agile, modular project delivery, supported by enterprise-wide portfolio management and you could find yourself working on a project for the UK???s critical national infrastructure through to a complex technology enabled business change programme.

The Role of a Recruitment Coordinator

The role provides management of data and development to staff involved in understanding and mapping the full range of capability and capacity currently deployed but also required in the future to effectively deliver the portfolio. The team activities compliment those delivered under HR Transformation through the provision of additional solutions such as the management of commercial contracts for project delivery resources, deployment of PPD resources and re-allocation of project delivery professionals to priority roles.


The Resource Manager will collaborate with projects across the Home Office to understand and address the issues related to capacity or capability through data analysis that impact the overall delivery confidence of the portfolio. This is fast paced and high priority work. This is an ideal opportunity to be actively involved in PPD capability workstreams; whilst gaining experience of contract management, cross government activity and wider capability resourcing initiatives across the project delivery profession.


Typical Role Responsibilities:


Planning:

Work alongside the project delivery professionals to implement planned strategies for projects, in line with the project requirements and standards. Likely to be focused on resourcing and allocation of internal resources.


Stakeholder Management:

Engage with stakeholders on resource management requirements alongside the Capability Team Manager and Capability Lead.


Reporting:

Collect timely and accurate data to report on Project Resource and Capability activities, planned or otherwise, on a regular basis to local or departmental teams. Highlight key resourcing and capability risks. Support the use of resource management tools in projects.


Capability Management:

Utilise the tools and techniques for the identification of resource levels, skills and competencies required and skill gaps for new and existing staff, to build project delivery capability.
