Wigan District is seeking applications for an Investigative Assistant.

The aim of this role is to conduct investigations, alongside gathering and reviewing evidence, liaising and working in partnership with other agencies and preparing files and submissions for use in court. So as well as having a good standard of written and spoken English, it's also important to be accurate and have an eye for detail.

To make a success of this role you will need to be able to produce written work to a high standard, both accurately and concisely. You will have experience in the preparation of criminal prosecution files, be proficient in statement taking and be an experienced interviewer. You must be able to prioritise multiple tasks simultaneously; ensuring deadlines are met, whilst remaining calm under pressure.

Although you'll be based in a particular location, we need you to be sufficiently flexible to be able to regularly travel to locations across GMP. You must therefore, hold a full UK driving license and have use of appropriate transport. Due to the nature of the work, you must also be prepared to work outside of normal hours when required.
