We currently have an exciting leadership opportunity to join us as Head of Production Operations Group.

Location: Reading/Basingstoke area

Job purpose:
Accountable to the Head of Operational Support Services and Resourcing for the leadership of the Production Operations Group, ensuring delivery of sustainable and efficient Production Operations in-line with the Operational Plans and that the operational output meets the requirements of the Programme and/or Functions. Enables successful delivery by ensuring resources are available.
Key accountabilities:
The collective delivery performance of the Production Technology Centres
Accountable for developing and SQEPing the Production Capability
Accountable for the provision of Production Operations Services capability
Developing, coordinating and managing cross functional operational improvement activities in response to risks and issues which impact Tech Centre operational output
Assess and plan future Production Operative resource requirements based on projected work, capability, impact of pipeline and levels of attrition, driving efficiencies and utilisation in line with budget
Candidates will need:
Strong operational management skills with the ability to drive performance
An ability to provide strategic and tactical insight and thinking depending on the needs of the business
Strong leadership skills in driving sustained and high performance and provide direction that inspires confidence in and commitment from others
A track record of providing inspirational leadership to a team with diverse skills and experience, and building a high performing team
Proven track record in a leadership position within a relevant regulated/quality focussed manufacturing environment
Strong negotiating and influencing skills with the ability to convince through personal credibility
Proven communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with specialists at all levels and communicate complex issues in clear language to a range of audiences
A strong understanding of the Technical Programme and its deliverables, drivers and barriers
An understanding of the business financial model and contribution on performance, delivery and cost
A strong track record in leading and driving cultural and process change successfully with demonstrable improvements in efficiency, delivery and operational effectiveness
Working knowledge of relevant Licence Conditions, Environmental Permitting Regulations, and other relevant legislation
All candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role, be prepared to travel in both UK and abroad and be willing and able to work in designated areas of AWE.
