Key Accountabilities:

• Providing a nuclear and environment baseline role as specified under AWE`s arrangements for health physics covering Radiation Protection and Nuclear emergency response.
• To ensure minimum manning numbers are maintained within the facilities at all times in accordance with safe operating envelopes (SOE`s) and facility emergency plans (FERP`s).
• Ensure compliance with site licence conditions and IRR requirements.
• The health and safety of the health physics team.
• Provide technical advice and support to the business, as required.
• Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player.
• Act as authorised source inventory holder as required under the ASIH requirements.

To be successful in this role you should have the following skills:

• City & guilds stage 1 in radiation safety/Equivalent qualifications or experience.
• Proven experience of managing and leading teams through change.
• Extensive experience of working in health physics or the nuclear industry.
• Management experience in high hazard/highly regulated environments.
