Here at HMNB Faslane in Clyde we're looking for an Operations Controller to join our us at our Faslane site. The onsite Serco team performs a variety of tasks that centre around the towing of international military vessels along with the transportation of passengers and other assets. In short, we help to keep allied navies operational.

The primary role of the Operations Controller (Clyde) is to plan and allocate vessels to tasks to meet the customer's operational requirements. This is accomplished through direct communication with customers, port operations staff, contract management teams, vessel masters, crew members and port/Authority representatives and personnel as required to achieve the task. The Operations Controllers (Clyde) (x2) work directly for and report to the Operations Manager (Clyde). The role involves regular contact with the customer Technical Superintendents/Manager, vessel Masters/crew and logistics support team. The successful post holder will be responsible for supporting Clyde and Greenock vessels (5 Duty Group Tugs, 1 Daywork Tug, 2 Pilot Vessels, 2 x passenger vessels and 3 barges), circa 90 crew members and additional charter vessels/agency staff as required. Please note the above is simplified and subject to amendments.

What you need to do the job:

To be considered for this role you must be methodical approach and have analytical skills. You must have experience of service delivery, including the administration aspect of delivery. It is essential that you the ability and experience of communicating and influencing, the ideal candidate must be IT literate (MS Office applications - Word, Excel & PowerPoint). You must also be able to achieve a Security Clearance. Additionally, Familiarisation and knowledge of the following company IT applications: FLEET (Task/Manpower Management System), Sharepoint (Information Management), Assure (Incident/Audit Reporting System), Risk Manager (Contractual Risk Monitoring System), MyHR and Employee Self-Service (HR/Training Systems).
