Safety Engineer of Air Operations

Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire
Salary: Attractive packages, DOE
Hours: 37 hours per week, with possible overtime
Contract: Permanent/Fixed Term

We develop digital offline and online documentation, together with Computer Based and AR/VR Training.  Working to industry specific standards such as S1000D, ATA, JSP, DSAT and DITA, for the; Commercial, Defence, Energy, Aerospace and Rail sectors.

The Role - Safety Engineer of Air Operations

In the framework of major projects in the Aerospace sector, you will join our team and accompany our clients in the organisation or management of their projects, in collaboration with our experts.

With experience of running industrial projects, you will be responsible for:

Key Tasks and Responsibilities - Safety Engineer of Air Operations

  • In the context of systems in development, carry out, update or check the analysis of Functioning Security (SdF) or Certification Documents (including writing technical notes);
  • The in-service programs, conduct quantitative or qualitative risk analyses to assess risk scenarios, establish necessary recommendations and assess impacts on existing studies in collaboration with the EOs, then modify them in depth and draw feedback from them;
  • As part of the quality process, communicate with your colleagues the knowledge acquired during your analyses, with the aim of enriching the expertise of the Company and its employees.

The right candidate will have the following skills and background:

  • Trained as an engineer (or equivalent MSc), with a specialisation in industrial risk management;
  • Minimum of 6 months to 1 year experience in the implementation of operational safety methods (SDF) on aeronautical systems;
  • You have a good command of the methods of Safety of Operation: Failure Tree, AMDEC, predictive reliability calculation.
  • A first experience of the ARP4761 processes (FHA, PSSA, SSA...) and ABD0100.1.3, would be appreciated, in the associated regulatory context;

Desirable:

  • Drive and enthusiasm to achieve customer quality criteria
  • Ability to work to deadlines and adhere to schedules
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision
  • Current SC Clearance an advantage

Please Note: Candidates must successfully undergo UK Security Vetting before they can be appointed.

The level of security needed is Security Check (SC).
